The biggest influence in my joining the seminary was the example of Pope John Paul II, who throughout his priesthood, has always said, "Do not be afraid".

After graduating from high school in 2007, I entered SS. Cyril and Methodius Seminary in Krakow where I majored in Philosophy. Upon completion of my second year of studies, I transferred to SS. Cyril and Methodius Seminary in Michigan, where I am continuing my studies as a seminarian for the Diocese of Brooklyn.

The Diocese of Brooklyn is called "The Diocese of Immigrants", which is what makes the diocese so great and unique. When I first came here from Poland, I walked on the streets and saw many churches of many nations and thought “I love it here.  This is where I am meant to be.” And here I am.

In addition to Pope John Paul II, another influence in my decision to enter the seminary was the priestly example of the priests from my home parish in Poland. Fr. Andrzej Ziemieskiewicz was the one who suggested the possibility of me entering the seminary in the United States.

The most important factor that that helped me to hear God's call was prayer. When I first began thinking about the priesthood, I prayed a lot, asking God if this could be a way of life for me. I also talked to a priest from my parish about what I was feeling inside. I attended different retreats to help in my discernment. The place where I finally decided to enter the seminary was at the National Sanctuary of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Poland, praying before a picture of Our Lady of Czestochowa.
